Update Date and Time – Windows XP

Websites on the internet use your date and time to verify your device and location. When your date and time are incorrect, web pages sometimes won’t load and typically give you an error saying “Unable to verify the Data received”. To see if this is what’s causing your issue, follow the steps below.

How to update date and time on Windows XP:

  1. Open the Control panel.
  2. Select “Date and Time” tab.
  3. Click on the “Internet Time” tab and check the “Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server”.
  4. From the drop-down menu, select “time.windows.com” or “time.nist.gov” as the server and hit the “Update now” button.

If you receive any error, try using time.nist.gov as your time server and then hit the “Update Now” button.
